A visit to the Maldives is more than just beaches. There’s an incredible history amongst the population of the islands along with a wondrous world beneath the sea.
Probably one of the most idyllic places we’ve had the fortune to explore on our trip so far. Felt we were always pulling the car over to either enjoy or try capturing the essence of a place. Most of the time we just enjoyed what we were seeing as it was nearly impossible to convey in a photo or video what was before us.
With such a dynamic society and a future of such uncertainty the appeal of following what goes on in Myanmar is something that will attract more and more global observers let alone the people of a very complex society.
One of the more interesting places we visited while in Myanmar (Burma) was the Golden Rock. The Kyaiktiyo Pagoda rests on top of a granite boulder roughly 7.5 meters in height with a 15 meters circumference thought to be held in place by a hair of the Buddha. The boulder itself has been covered by gold leave applied by Buddhist pilgrims over the years and gleams with a golden glow regardless of the weather conditions.

Spent a week visiting the ruins of the Angkor Wat complex in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It was the second opportunity for us to see the temples and we felt fortunate to explore more casually and take it all in without feeling rushed.
